The Blue Ducky 5k Waddle is held in remembrance of Stephany Nicolosi, an amazing woman who helped save the lives of 8 people through organ, eye, and tissue donation. She fought for life every day and outlived the odds. The Blue Ducky comes from Stephany’s love of the color blue and her love of rubber duckies. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Chris Klug Foundation, a nonprofit organization that educates on the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

LOCATION AND COURSE DESCRIPTION

At Tickfaw State park, you can go night hiking or listen to the swamp nightlife from the porch of your vacation cabin. Check at the Nature Center for scheduled programs. While there, view the 800-gallon aquarium stocked with fish found in the Tickfaw River. There are also displays featuring the animals, history and culture of the area and of Louisiana.

Strolling through four ecosystems on over a mile of boardwalks through Tickfaw State Park, visitors can experience the sights and sounds of a cypress/tupelo swamp, a bottomland hardwood forest, a mixed pine/hardwood forest and the Tickfaw River.
Course will be on main entrance road where you will run on side of road/grass area 1.55 miles out and back. You will get to run pass the water area where you can enjoy a cool down. You finish right around the River Trail head. Bathroom are right next to the start/finish.

RACE DAY AND START TIME

Check-in will the be the morning of May 17, 2025 from 6:30am - 7:45am. Check-in will be at Blue Tent by bathroom around River Trail Parking is available throughout the park. The race will start at 8:00am on Saturday, May 17, 2025. The course will close at 10:00am, or after the final participant crosses the finish line, which ever is first.

Presented by Happy Worm: LiverMan 100 is a first-of-its-kind off-road triathlon. Born out of a desire to craft a 'misogi' (a year defining challenge), LiverMan 100 is all about pushing boundaries in the gnarliest way. LiverMan is also a celebration of the gift of life and hopes to raise awareness of the power of organ donation. In 2024, we raised over $3,000 for the Chris Klug Foundation who's vision to eliminate the wait for transplantation.

LiverMan 100 is gnarly and it is wild. As an unsanctioned race, racers will need to be generally self-supported. We will have some aid stations with water and light snacks. There is no medical staff. No closed streets or paths. Racers must follow all road laws and be respectful of other people, cars, etc. LiverMan 100 is meant to be a positive, challenging celebration of life, health, and organ donation! Thanks in advance for your enthusiasm and cooperation.

  • Start: Location provided upon registration. Within 45 minutes of Denver.

  • Swim: 1 mile in an open water lake

  • Bike: 83 miles on a mix of bike paths, gravel paths and gravel road and trail. Gravel bike necessary. 2500 ft elevation gain.

  • Run: 16 miles on trail. 5500 ft elevation gain. Max elevation 8500 ft.

  • Finish: 45 minutes from Denver. 45 minutes from Start.

National Minority Donor Awareness Month stems from National Minority Donor Awareness Week, founded in 1996 by the National Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (MOTTEP), to bring heightened awareness to donation and transplantation in multicultural communities – focusing primarily on African American, Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander and Native American communities.

Wine & Dine is one of the Chris Klug Foundation's annual awareness and fundraising events.  It is a celebration of the gift of life with the recipients of our CKF Awards, along with exquisite wine and decadent food in a beautiful setting at the Snowmass Club. Wine & Dine helps CKF continue our work to educate and inspire individuals to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors, and to eliminate the wait for a transplant. 

Join us in celebrating and honoring our CKF Award Winners as they accept their awards and share their donation, transplantation, and caregiving journeys. Attendees enjoy a champagne toast, open bar, 3-course meal, and dessert bar. To cap off the night, all are invited to dance the night away with our live band.

CKF's 5K for Life

Join us on September 27th at Coffee Creek Preserve in Chesterton, IN for the first ever CKF's 5k for Life. We will be bringing the community together to share the message of organ, eye, and tissue donation and show the world what a transplant makes possible.

Currently in the United States over 103,000 individuals are awaiting a life saving transplant and only 48% of Americans sign up to help them while 96% say they agree with organ donation. CKF's mission is to educate and inspire individuals to make a difference and register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. We welcome everyone to take part in our 5k whether you have a connection to donation and transplant or you just want to get out and be active this event is for all ages and abilities. You can walk or run the race whichever you are comfortable with. We will have local vendors, all racers will receive a t-shirt, there will be music and more so make sure you sign up today! Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for kids (Under 12).
