Meet-n-Greet: Icky Woods

Believe it or not, it is Football season! Is there a better way to introduce the season and our new Meet-n-Greet program than this?

CKF had the pleasure of meeting Icky Woods. Elbert L. “Ickey” Woods is a former American football fullback who played his entire NFL career (1988 to 1991) with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played college football at UNLV. He is best remembered for his “Ickey Shuffle” end zone dance, performed each time he scored a touchdown.On August 14th, 2010, Icky’s son, Jovante Woods died suddenly from a severe asthma attack. Because of their loss, Ickey and Jovante’s mother Chandra, were inspired to build the Jovante Woods Foundation. The Foundation is 3-fold.Asthma:  They are continuing an ongoing endowment in Jovante’s name to help fund the critical work of Cincinnati Children's Asthma Research Division.  JWF works to bring Asthma Awareness to their Community, Nation and World, provide asthma screenings, and education to families in need.Organ Donation:  JWF will continue their work with LifeCenter Organ Donor Network to educate all on the importance of this Gift of Life.Education:  The Foundation’s “3.8 to be Great” scholarship fund awards two scholarships to a male and female athlete with a 3.8 or greater GPA.
