Patient Ambassador Visit – The Mount Sinai Hospital
November 1 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm UTC-7
Every year, the Chris Klug Foundation visits a collection of hospitals and organ procurement organizations (OPOs) in different states around the country to inspire and encourage pre-transplant patients, recent transplant recipients and their families as well as hospital/OPO staff and volunteers. This nationwide Patient Ambassador Tour, sponsored by Astellas, connects healthy, active and accomplished members of the transplant community—our Patient Ambassadors—to these patients and helps provide hope for those in need.
On this leg of our 2019 Patient Ambassador Tour, CKF will be hosting a panel discussion at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City on Friday, November 1st from 12-1 PM. Chris Klug will be moderating a panel of three individuals: one of this year’s Bounce Back Give Back Award winners and heart transplant recipient, Lauren Shields, 2019 NYC Marathon runner and liver recipient, Jay Bernheisel, and Director of the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute at Mount Sinai, Dr. Sander Florman. Lunch will be provided.
