CF (short for Cystic Fibrosis) has no cure yet, and so having crumby lung function and frequent infections leads to needing a double lung transplant.
That is the stage that I’m at. I have now received my life-saving transplant at 27 years old. Thank you to my beautiful donor and their selfless gift I have been given another chance! My journey has been a long one to get to where I’m now and it was all with the help of my big sister Laima. I could not have been able to do it without her. With laughter and adventures, we have made it to the other side of waiting for the call for new lungs.
On our quest, we decided we wanted to help raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis and organ donation by sharing our story by writing a blog and on social media platforms. If you want to follow our story you can keep up with us on Instagram: @lung_story_short, on our blog at www.lungstoryshort.com, and Facebook: lung story short.
